The Fine Arts Council originally began in 1970 organizing art exhibitions as an opportunity for University of Iowa Students to display and sell their work with the public. Over the years the organization has transitioned to host professional fine artists in the Midwest region. In order to pay homage to the Fine Arts Council’s foundational start and historic management by UI student leaders, 2014 marked the introduction of the Emerging Artist Display featuring select University of Iowa Students. The Council has proudly curated displays for four years including original works in painting, ceramics, photography, drawing, plaster sculpture, metal art, poetry, and illustrated poetry.
The Fine Arts Council history and continuity is the result of student artwork, ambition, creativity, dedication, and leadership. Which is why The Council would like to pay tribute to them in this years Emerging Artist Display.
Main Floor of the Iowa Memorial Union
Display will be showcased for an entire month (TBD)
