The 2019 Spring Art Exposé is CANCELLED
We regret to inform you that the UI Spring Art Exposé has been canceled for April 20 & 21.
Due to a conflict as a result of the show falling on Easter and Passover weekend, the Fine Arts Council has decided to cancel this year’s Spring Art Exposé. This decision was not only made out of respect those with religious/familial obligations, but also out of concern for the potential decline in patron attendance due to the holiday weekend.
Your applications and jury fees for the 2019 Spring Art Exposé will automatically count towards the 2020 Spring Art Exposé, which will take place on April 18th and 19th, 2020. The Fine Arts Council will jury applications and send out acceptance/waitlist/rejection letters for the 2020 Spring Art Exposé in February, 2020. If you submitted a jury fee for the 2019 spring show, you DO NOT need to submit another one for the 2020 show. If you have not submitted a jury fee, you have until the end of January 2020 to submit it.
IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE 2020 SPRING ART EXPOSÉ, PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL. YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE REMOVED FROM OUR RECORDS AND YOUR JURY FEE WILL BE RETURNED.
NOTE: If you applied for both the 2018 Holiday Thieves’ Market and the 2019 Spring Art Exposé (meaning you submitted one application and one jury fee to count towards both shows), your application and jury fee will still count towards the 2020 Spring Art Exposé. However, if you wish to not be considered for the 2020 Spring Art Exposé, your jury fee will not be returned as it was also used to be juried for the 2018 Holiday Thieves Market.
NOTE: if you applied for both the 2019 Spring Art Exposé and the 2019 Holiday Thieves’ Market (meaning you submitted one application and one jury fee to count towards both shows), your application and jury fee will still count towards the 2019 Holiday Thieves’ Market and the 2020 Spring Art Exposé. However, if you wish to not be considered for the 2020 Spring Art Exposé and would like your jury fee returned, keep in mind that you will also NOT be considered for the 2019 Holiday Thieves’ Market (remember the jury fee is a payment for consideration for BOTH shows).
In the meantime, the Fine Arts Council will be researching, strategizing, and brainstorming ways to improve the show in 2020, but we need your feedback. For the past few years, the Spring Art Exposé has been struggling to recruit enough artists for our show. Without a sufficient number artists, we are not able to keep up with the cost of operations. Therefore, we ask that you please take a few minutes of your time to fill out this survey regarding our Spring Art Exposé shows. This feedback will help the Fine Arts Council determine what improvements to make to our spring shows to increase artist participation and overall success.
